UPDATE 9:25 a.m.
Seattle police said this morning that an elderly man who was robbed and assaulted while in bed this morning was victim of a home-invasion robbery in February 2013.
Police this morning said they are still looking for suspects in the home-invasion robbery last night. The suspects stole the man’s Rolex watch and a diamond ring, police said.
Seattle police are looking for two men suspected of robbing and assaulting an 84-year-old man at his North Seattle home Tuesday night, according to a post on the Seattle Police Department website.
The man and his girlfriend were asleep in bed when the two men, believed to be in their 20s and wearing dark ski masks, forced entry into the back door of the home in the 700 block of NW 120th Street.
The suspects confronted the homeowner, and one pointed a gun at the victim and demanded money, according to the report. The male victim subsequently got into a physical altercation with the gun-wielding suspect. During the altercation the victim fell down and was kicked by the suspect.
The suspects then grabbed the female victim’s purse, ran out the front door of the house and fled the scene on foot, the police post says.
Police searched the area for the suspects with the help of a canine unit, according to police. While some items believed to have come from the victim’s purse were found, the suspects remain at large. One suspect was described as wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt and the other was wearing jeans and a dark jacket.
Fire department medics responded to the scene and evaluated the male victim, who had no visible injuries and did not require transport, according to the police post.
Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identities or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at 206-684-5535.
