Young man found critically injured behind UW fraternity house

Medics were called to a University of Washington fraternity house early this morning for a report of a man who possibly fell out a window.

The 19-year-old man’s friends at the Chi Psi Fraternity house in 4600 block of 22nd Avenue Northeast called for help at 3:17 a.m. after returning home and finding the man in an alley, said Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore.

“He had been out there for an unknown amount of time,” Moore said. “He had multiple fractures and was in life-threatening condition. The only thing we can figure out is there is a window three stories up and it was open,” said Moore.

Moore said there are no witnesses. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

“His injuries are consistent of falling three stories,” Moore said.

Colton Perry, president of the fraternity declined to comment this morning.

The UW identified the injured man as a student.
