1 man fatally shot after argument near White Center

One man is dead and another in custody after an argument led to a shooting in a neighborhood east of White Center on Monday afternoon.

Three or four men who knew each other were having “some kind of argument over property” when, at one point, one of them pulled out a gun and shot and killed another one, said Sgt. DB Gates with the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The alleged shooter then ran away through neighbors’ yards and was caught by sheriff’s deputies, who arrested him on investigation of homicide.

The shooting took place off of Myers Way at Second Avenue South, said Gates, who added that the Sheriff’s Office got its first calls about the shooting at around 4 p.m.

Both the man who was arrested and the victim were described as in their 20s and both from the area, Gates said.
