3 motorcyclists killed, 1 hurt on Alaska highway

ANCHORAGE (AP) — Three motorcyclists are dead and another is injured following a crash Saturday night on a key Alaska highway north of Anchorage.

Alaska State Troopers spokesman Tim DeSpain says the four motorcyclists struck a vehicle on the Glenn Highway that had been pushed into their northbound lane.

He says the three were pronounced dead at the scene, which is south of Palmer near a key interchange. The injured rider is hospitalized but DeSpain didn’t have condition information.

He says the crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. when a vehicle stopped to make a turn but was rear-ended by another vehicle and pushed into the oncoming lane. All four oncoming motorcyclists then collided with it. No one else was seriously hurt.
