The boyfriend of an Arlington woman who was fatally shot in early April was arrested this evening in connection with her death, according to the Arlington Police Department.
Jessica C. Jones, 25, was found with a gunshot wound to the head in an Arlington residence on April 8 after officers received reports of an assault with a weapon. She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, where she died the next day.
The suspect initially reported to Arlington police that Jones was shot by an unknown person from inside a dark blue Dodge Neon. However, a witness later told Arlington detectives they saw the suspect enter the garage during a fight and then heard a gunshot. A handgun was found in the nearby bushes.
The suspect was arrested by officers from the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder with a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm. The suspect is well known to officers, police said, and has prior convictions for assault, robbery, burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm.
