Edmonds woman killed while crossing street identified

The Edmonds woman who was killed after being struck by an SUV as she crossed a street in Edmonds on Tuesday evening has been identified.

Lexie J. Hess, 73, died of blunt-force injuries to the head and torso, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. Hess was crossing Fourth Avenue North on eastbound Bell Street when she was struck by an SUV driven by a 36-year-old Edmonds woman. Hess was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV is cooperating with law enforcement, according to the Edmonds Police Department.
