Man fatally struck by train in Mukilteo

An Amtrak train struck and killed a man in his 50s Friday night in Mukilteo.

The southbound train was passing Lighthouse Park at 10:20 p.m. when it hit the man who was on the railroad tracks near 605 Front St., Mukilteo police say. The park had closed at 10 p.m.

Officer Colt Davis said the police and a BNSF investigation team are looking into why the man may have been on the tracks.
