The man seen walking through the door is suspected of stealing money from an armored car in Renton. (Renton police photos)

Renton police say the man in this surveillance photo is suspected of stealing cash from a parked armored car.

The car was parked at 200 S. Third St. in Renton about 11:08 a.m. Thursday when the driver saw a man walking away from the back of the vehicle, police said. It was later discovered that cash was missing from the armored car.

The suspect’s photo was obtained from store security.

Police say he is black, 30 to 40 years old, 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-10. He was wearing a black jacket, blue or black jeans, a black and white scarf, and mirrored wire-rimmed sunglasses.

A possible suspect vehicle is described as a newer black sedan, possibly a BMW or a Mercedes-Benz, with shiny rims.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500 and reference case 14-5125.
