Seattle police are looking for the man who stole a toilet tank from a West Seattle sandwich shop Sunday night.
Police said the man and his family walked into the Subway sandwich shop in the 4700 block of 42nd Avenue Southwest around 7:45 p.m. and ordered food. While employees were preparing the family’s meal, the man paid a visit to the restroom, where he spent a considerable amount of time, police said.
How long? Turns out the man’s wife knocked on the door and asked what was taking him so long, according to police.
If that wasn’t embarrassing enough, the man’s family left without him.
A short time later, the man finally emerged from the restroom, ominously carrying a large, black plastic garbage bag.
He quickly left the shop, police said.
An employee later discovered the toilet tank was missing from the restroom and the sink had been stuffed with paper towels and was overflowing.
To add insult to injury, the man also made off with the restroom key.
Subway employees told police the toilet tank was worth $550.
