Marysville teen shot in the neck in critical condition

A Marysville teen is at Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries today after being shot in the neck.

Relatives of the 17-year-old male reported the East Marysville shooting to police at about 1 a.m. Sunday. The Marysville Police Department said at that point, the young man already had been transported by friends to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

He later was  airlifted to Harborview, where he is still in critical condition, according to Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux.

Lamoureux said friends and relatives have not been cooperative with detectives so far.

“There are still a lot of puzzle pieces coming together,” said Lamoureux. “We don’t even know if this was a purposeful act or an accident yet.”

Anyone who may know more about what happened is asked to contact Marysville Police Detective Craig Bartl at (360)363-8350.
