Olympia: 1 dead after apartment fire

OLYMPIA  (AP) — Fire officials in Olympia say one person was found dead after a Wednesday evening apartment fire.

KOMO-TV reports that arriving firefighters found smoke and flames coming from a second-floor apartment in a five-story building. Several people told fire crews they thought someone was inside the room that was on fire.

Firefighters found a resident dead inside that unit.

The building houses about 100 residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
