Police search for suspect in Everett shooting

Update: 9:42 p.m.

A shooting about 6:30 p.m. Saturday outside Horizon Elementary School in Everett has put one teenage male in the hospital, and prompted a search for the shooter.

Witnesses told police a small group of  teenagers were playing basketball when a larger group of about 15 to 20 males in their late teens arrived on the court.

An argument ensued, and a teen from the original group was shot.

Everett police were on the scene Saturday night, searching for the suspect with the help of a helicopter from Snohomish County. Several teens officers believe may have been in the second group have been located and are being questioned by police.

Witnesses told police that the gunman was a male in his late teens, skinny, bald and wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans, according to Aaron Snell, community information officer with the Everett Police Department.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the incident, according to Snell. At this time, no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911 or the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450.
