Police arrested a woman this morning after she allegedly robbed a Renton bank for the second time in two days, according to the Renton Police Department.
Employees at a Chase Bank branch inside the downtown Renton Fred Meyer store reported that a female had given a demand note to a teller but fled when the teller did not immediately surrender money to her.
Minutes later, police received a call from the nearby Alaska Federal Credit Union branch inside the downtown Safeway store. Employees there said the same woman who had robbed the branch the day before was in line at the teller window. The woman fled into the parking lot but was arrested after a foot chase.
An investigation showed she was the suspect from the Chase robbery attempt and the same person suspected of robbing the Credit Union on Thursday. The 26-year-old Renton woman was booked for investigation of first-degree robbery.
The same Credit Union was robbed last week. The suspect from that robbery has not been identified.
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500.
