Seattle police officer assaulted by transient in International District

A Seattle police officer sustained minor injuries after being assaulted by a transient in the International District this evening, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The officer was investigating a collision at South Jackson Street and Fifth Avenue South when a transient male assaulted the officer.

The transient male was arrested for investigation of assault, police said.
