State releases app to help boaters find launch sites, moorages

Boaters looking for a launch site or place to spend a weekend on the water can now find the information they need through the new mobile app Washington Water Cruiser.

The app maps all public boat launches and moorage sites owned by the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, state Parks and Recreation Commission, and state Recreation and Conservation Office.

It also lists boater amenities provided at each site.

The free app was made for Apple and Android devices. It’s available at watercruiser.smartmine.com or on iTunes or the Google app store for Androids.

SmartMine, the technology development team at GeoEngineers, created the app using a Recreation and Conservation grant funded through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
