Thursday Memo: Man hit by train … Marijuana Fairy … SPD cops sue … Plump planet

A young man was struck by a train in Shoreline this morning.

Weed Fairy pays Seattle a visit: A woman who goes by “Weed Fairy” distributed free nuggets of marijuana to people in Seattle over the Memorial Day weekend.

Is anyone surprised by this, one way or another? More than 100 Seattle police officers filed a federal lawsuit, alleging that new use-of-force policies imposed under a consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) unreasonably restrict their right to protect themselves and others from apparent harm and danger. Worth noting that 90 percent of SPD officers didn’t join this suit.

How do you steal a front-end loader? And why would you? A 40,000-pound front-end loader stolen last weekend from a Spokane Valley construction site has turned up — about two miles away.

Mariners win: Felix Hernandez shined as the Ms beat the Angels 3-1. Hernandez is just the seventh pitcher in team history to reach seven wins in a season before June 1.
