Tuesday Memo: Seattle reads … 3 days locked in trunk? … Worst airline meals

We read a lot around here: Seattle has been ranked fourth on Amazon.com’s list of the best-read cities. Arlington, Va., is No. 1.

A smaller tablet from Microsoft: Microsoft is expected to announce updates to its line of tablets in New York today. Our Microsoft expert Janet Tu will be there and will be live blogging the event. Microsoft could announce maxi and mini versions of its Surface line of tablets.

Whoa, three days locked in her trunk? If true, it’s one heckuva story. We’re rather skeptical, however. A Lynnwood woman was found locked in a car trunk near Leavenworth yesterday, and she says she was in there for three days.

What’s your worst airline meal ever? You’re invited to tell us in the comments section of a post by our travel editor Kristin Jackson, who says her worst airline meal to date included a gray mystery meat and a wilted salad. You also can vote in our poll: Are airline meals worse today than they were a decade ago?

Weather: Looks like sun today, tomorrow and Thursday, but expect rain on Friday. Well it has to rain sometimes. National Weather Service forecast
