An Edmonds woman was killed after she was struck by an SUV while she was crossing the street in Edmonds this evening, police said.

The 73-year-old woman was crossing Fourth Avenue North on eastbound Bell Street when she was struck by an SUV driven by a 36-year-old Edmonds woman.

The driver, who was turning left onto Fourth Avenue North, stopped immediately and called 911, according to the Edmonds Police Department. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver is cooperating with officers, the police department said. Investigators don’t believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
