PORT ANGELES — The arraignment of three people who staged a fake kidnapping at a Sequim park was postponed while authorities decide whether the maximum penalty they could face is 90 days or a year in jail.
The Peninsula Daily News reports Jason and Jesse Holden and Shellie Baskins were in court Thursday, but the judge delayed the hearing until next Thursday.
They are charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct for the April 13 incident that alarmed onlookers at Carrie Blake Park.
The men were wearing ski masks when they grabbed Baskins’ 4-year-old son and drove off in a van. They said they were making a video to promote child-abduction awareness.
