Body found along Skykomish River is likely missing hiker

Investigators say the body found Saturday along the Skykomish River in Snohomish County is believed to be that of a male hiker who had been reported missing earlier in the week.

Foul play is not suspected.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said the body was reported about 6 p.m. by a woman who found it earlier in the day near Sunset Falls. Patrol deputies, search and rescue team members and local fire and aid crews helped recovered the body.

The hiker’s name and cause of death will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
