Diversity training for Portland mayor and top police

The Associated Press

PORTLAND — The city of Portland is sending about 16 white male managers to a three-day seminar called “White Men as Full Diversity Partners.”

Most are top-level leaders from the police bureau, including Chief Mike Reese. Mayor Charlie Hales also plans to attend.

Hales told KATU the $56,000 spent on the diversity training seminar is worth it to get better at “serving our community and all of its wholeness complexity.”
