Driver injured when car crashes into Lake City building

A 55-year-old driver was revived after his car crashed into a building in the 12400 block of Lake City Way this afternoon, the Seattle Fire Department said.

According to fire department spokesman Kyle Moore, the driver was reported to be either on his way to or from the gym when, for reasons not yet known, crashed his car through a fence and into the garage of Lake City Honda at 3:47 p.m.

Moore said witnesses reported that several mechanics had to “jump out of the way.”

Police arrived and began performing CPR on the unresponsive driver, Moore said. Medics arrived and were able to start the man’s heart, Moore said.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, he said.
