Lynnwood teen dies after fall near Mount Pilchuck

The body of a 15-year-old Lynnwood teen who died after falling during a hike near Mount Pilchuck was recovered on Sunday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the boy was hiking on the Lake 22 trail with his brother and some friends when he fell. The teen’s friends called 911 around 7:45 p.m. to report the teen had fallen and could not be seen, police said.

Members of a helicopter crew spotted the boy, but he was dead by the time rescuers on the ground reached him and his body was not recovered until Sunday morning, officials said.
