Man with gun allegedly chases ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend

Seattle police say they have arrested a man who was reported to be armed with a gun while he chased his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend near Second Avenue Northeast and Northeast 47th Street.

The victim called police at 1:55 p.m. to say that a man was chasing him with a gun and that he, the victim, was running around the neighborhood knocking on doors and trying to get people to let him in, according to Seattle police spokesman Patrick Michaud.

When his attempts were unsuccessful, the man who was being chased reportedly tried to break into the back door of a residence, police said.

Police reported at 2:15 p.m. that they had located the alleged gunman, who had been described as a 25-year-old white man wearing a black checkered shirt.
