Man wounded in early-morning shooting in downtown Seattle

A man was wounded in the foot early this morning when a gunman opened fire from the sunroof of a parked Mercedes-Benz in downtown Seattle, Seattle police said.

A security guard who witnessed the shooting told officers the victim and others were walking in the 1500 block of Second Avenue around 1 a.m. when they got into an argument with the occupants of the Mercedes, police said. The front-seat passenger stood through the vehicle’s sunroof and opened fire, striking the victim in the foot.

The vehicle was described as a gray or silver Mercedes sedan.

When officers arrived, the injured man and his companions were hostile and refused to provide information about the gunman or the shooting, according to police.

The wounded man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.
