Seattle man charged in alleged South Park kidnapping

A 25-year-old Seattle man accused of dragging a 10-year-old girl into a South Park wooded area and threatening to rape her on Monday has been charged with first-degree kidnapping, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Dejon Luciano Robinson allegedly approached the girl as she was walking from her grandparents’ house to a friend’s house Monday evening and asked her for directions to a library, according to a statement of probable cause. She gave him directions, and then he said he knew a quicker path in order to “lure” her toward a wooded area. He then pulled the girl into the area and said he would rape her if she didn’t have sex with him. He took off his pants before she was able to get away.

Witnesses called 911 as they saw the two walking in the 8800 block of Seventh Avenue South and later when they saw the girl running away, according to the probable-cause statement. Robinson was arrested after police officers searched the area.

Robinson remains in custody in lieu of $500,000.
