A Level 3 sex offender accused of dragging a 6-year-old girl from a Beacon Hill park earlier this month pleaded not guilty to first-degree kidnapping this morning in King County Superior Court.
Jesse Brisbin, 30, is accused in court documents of approaching the girl around 7 p.m. June 5 at Benefit Park while she was playing with her siblings. He allegedly offered her and her 8-year-old sister a dollar to leave with him.
When the girls refused, police and prosecutors say Brisbin grabbed the younger girl by the arm and began dragging her from the park.
The girl’s siblings ran home and told their parents, court documents say.
When officers arrived, they found the victim’s father and other men subduing Brisbin, who was on the ground, according to police. Police said the suspect was treated at the scene for injuries.
Prosecutors say the victim later told her mother that the suspect had pulled down her pants and covered her head with a shirt. The little girl managed to break free and run away to safety.
According to court documents, Brisbin was convicted of indecent exposure and communication with a minor for immoral purposes in 2009 after he showed his penis to two boys, aged 3 and 5 and asked them to touch it.
Ten years earlier, he was convicted of kidnapping, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child in New Jersey.
