Shots fired at deputy’s parked car in Kent

Kent police are investigating a drive-by shooting outside a King County sheriff’s deputy’s home early this morning.

Gunshots were fired at the deputy’s patrol vehicle, parked outside his house in the 26500 block of Lake Fenwick Road, around 3 a.m., Kent Police Cmdr. Jarod Kasner said. Nobody was hurt.

Kent police detectives are still investigating. Kasner did not know if the deputy’s house was struck by gunfire also.

Deputies were called to the home around 3:50 a.m. for the drive-by shooting. A neighbor told KOMO-TV they dialed 911.

“It appears the car was the target,” Kasner said, adding that the shooting appears to be random.

The deputy has not been identified.
