Sunday Memo: Pride Parade today … Zombie TV … Liquor not cheap

Seattle Pride Parade: The 40th annual parade kicks off at Fourth Avenue and Union Street at 11 a.m. Details can be found here and here. This year’s theme is Generations of Pride, honoring those who fought the early battles for equality and those continuing to advocate for it.

Zombie TV: A 13-episode first season of “Z-Nation” is scheduled to be filmed in Spokane this summer and is expected to employ a large number of people, including 1,000 extras. Chomp, chomp.

Sorry if you thought it was going to get cheaper … When liquor sales when private, many thought booze would be sold far and wide and cheap. Well, you can by it in a lot of places, but it’ll cost ya.

No Hope Solo, but Reign FC managed a 0-0 draw with Sky Blue FC yesterday. Solo, who was eligible to play amid charges of fourth-degree domestic violence assault at a family event last weekend, warmed up with her teammates, but was listed as a substitute and did not play in the match.

Are we  free or not? Columnist Danny Westneat tackles that issue with a closer look at whether Seattle and Washington state have, according to the conservative Freedom Foundation, “bound us in red tape and drowned us in red ink.”

Weather: Supposed to be a chance of showers today, but it’s sunny at 8:45 a.m. Sunny and WARM Monday and Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s! National Weather Service forecast
