Thursday Memo: 2 die in plane crash … Death with Dignity … Withholding facts on oil trains

Fatal plane crash: We hope to have more today on the crash of a WWII-era plane that killed two men yesterday near Buckley.

Mountain rescue: Likewise, we’re keeping tabs on the woman who fell and was injured while climbing Mount Stuart yesterday.

Death with Dignity: More than 100 people died last year after requesting and taking lethal prescription drugs to end their lives under the state’s law. Washington was the second state, after Oregon, to have such a law.

Seriously? Two railroad companies want to prevent the public from getting hold of details about oil shipments through Washington state, a disclosure the federal government ordered be given to state emergency managers in the wake of several oil train accidents.
