Another pit bull controversy: Yakima has banned pit bulls in the city except for those used as service animals. Soooo … some pit bull owners are claiming their dogs have been trained to help the disabled, claims the city thinks might be a tad sketchy. The city plans to ask service dog owners to sign a form that says they could face perjury charges if their pit bull aren’t a real service animal.

Nine injured in head-on crash: The accident occurred yesterday on Highway 2 just east of Monroe. At least 12 people in all were involved.

No need to damn these Yankees: Kyle Seager tied a club record with four extra-base hits and Felix Hernandez pitched seven quality innings to give the Mariners a 10-2 victory at Yankee Stadium yesterday. The Ms play Atlanta  at 4:10 p.m. today.

Other stories that caught our eye:

Weather: It’s only going to get warmer as the week progresses. Isn’t June usually rainy? Cloudy this morning, but sunny by afternoon. National Weather Service forecast
