Fire officials in King County say fireworks calls quadrupled this Independence Day, compared with last year.
KING 5 reports fireworks remain legal in 16 municipalities in King County.
Even in restricted areas, however, King County fireworks-related fire calls totaled 200 during the Fourth of July holiday night.
Last year, that number was 45. Fire officials attribute the increase to dry weather and the holiday falling on a Friday.
Fireworks damaged at least three homes in the county.
