Armed man robs Lake City strip club

It was a nightmare start to the day for Dreamgirls at Ricks.

An armed man stole “a large amount of cash” from the Lake City strip club on Friday morning even before it had opened for business, Seattle police said.

The manager of Dreamgirls was standing outside the business in the 11332 block of Lake City Way just before 10:30 a.m. when the armed man approached and pulled out a handgun, police said. The gunman forced the manager to let him inside the club, which had not yet opened, police said.

Once inside, the gunman ordered the manager and a custodian to the floor as he ripped phone lines out of the walls and stole the cash, according to police. The gunman wore all black clothing, gloves, sunglasses and a bandanna over his face.

He fled in a blue or gray SUV.
