Man arrested after officer spots him robbing Lake City store

A 26-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after a police officer saw him robbing a Lake City Way 7-Eleven store with a pellet gun that resembled a handgun, Seattle police said.

An officer who was flagged down by a witness spotted the masked gunman pointing the gun at the store clerk, whose hands were raised in the air, in the 3200 block of Northeast 145th Street.

The  gunman walked out of the store with a pack of cigarettes and a lighter before the officer ordered him to drop the weapon, police said. He was arrested without incident.

The Seattle man was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
