Motorcyclist hospitalized after South Lake Union crash

A 25-year-old motorcyclist has been hospitalized with critical injuries after a collision with a car in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, said Seattle police spokesman Sgt. Sean Whitcomb.

The 8:02 a.m. crash, which occurred in the 1900 block of Westlake Avenue North, sent the motorcyclist through the windshield of the car.

The motorcyclist, who was unconscious after the crash, suffered fractures and cuts, said Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Traffic in the area will be impacted while police investigate, Whitcomb said.
