Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by truck in Renton

A woman was in critical condition after being hit by a truck pulling a boat trailer in Renton this afternoon.

Police say the woman was  walking in the crosswalk at Northeast Fourth Street and Queen Avenue Northeast when she was hit.

Police responded to the collision about 1:10 p.m and took the woman, estimated to be about 40 years old, to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

It does not appear that alcohol was involved in the incident, according to Renton police spokeswoman Terri Vickers. The driver of the truck was cooperative with officers, Vickers said.

The Renton Police Traffic Unit is investigating and has limited traffic on Northeast Fourth Street near Queen Avenue to one lane in each direction. The partial closure will continue well into the evening, Vickers said.

Renton police ask anyone with information about the crash to call 425-430-7500 and reference case 14-8509.
