Police investigate possible murder-suicide at Ravenna nursing home

Seattle police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman at a Ravenna assisted-living facility as a possible murder-suicide.

At around 2 p.m., police received a report of a suicidal man leaving his home in Ballard.

“A short time later, police received a second call from the family indicating the man may have headed for his elderly mother’s assisted living facility in the Ravenna neighborhood, with plans to harm her,” police wrote in a news release.

As police headed to the Ida Culver House Ravenna, staff there went to check on the woman. They found the bodies of the man and a woman, police said.

Police have not identified the people found dead in the room.

The case is under investigation.
