Possible chemical spill reported at Interbay business

Update at 1:43 p.m.: The Fire Department’s hazardous materials team did not locate a source of illness inside the Interbay business. Fire crews are now clearing the scene.

Original post: Two people have been hospitalized after a possible chemical spill at a plumbing supply store in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood.

Seattle fire Lt. Sue Stangl said department hazardous materials crews are on scene at the store in the 3000 block of 17th Avenue West.

Details about what might have spilled have not been released.
