Heading out the door to work? Ditch those cute sandals and grab your umbrella because the Seattle gloom is back … for now.

The National Weather Service said to expect a day of rain and thunderstorms in Western Washington, with temperatures in just the upper 60s.

The showers will taper to a drizzle before disappearing Thursday evening. Temperatures will hover near 70 Thursday, said National Weather Service Meteorologist Chris Burke.

Summer will return on Friday and into the weekend, Burke said. Expect sunshine and temperatures in the mid 70s on Friday and back into the 80s over the weekend.
