Renton police are looking for a 40-year-old woman who they say poured gasoline on her husband and set him on fire Wednesday.
The victim, a 52-year-old Renton man, walked into a 7-Eleven store at South 129th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way South around 8 a.m. with serious but not life-threatening burns, according to Renton police. The man is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Police said the incident occurred at a nearby Renton apartment complex.
Police today identified the suspect as the victim’s wife, Tatanysha M. Hedman, who they said fled the apartment before police arrived. They say they have probable cause to arrest her in the assault.
She is described as a light-complected African-American woman, 5-feet tall and 170 pounds. Hedman may be driving an older red pickup, possibly a vintage 1970s Chevrolet.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or call Renton police at 425-430-7500. Callers should refer to case number 14-7998.
