The northbound lanes of the Alaskan Way Viaduct will close Saturday night from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m., for the Seafair Torchlight Run races. Southbound lanes will remain open.
Fourth Avenue also will close for the Torchlight Parade from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday from Broad Street to South Washington Street. Downtown will be congested afterward as crowds of up to 300,000 people leave the event, according to a Seattle Department of Transportation advisory.
The Capitol Hill Block Party will occupy several blocks near the corner of Broadway and Pine Street, attracting 9,000 fans per day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Travelers are advised to use a bus, bicycle, or walk in the area, as there will be virtually no room to drive and park nearby.
Seattle Mariners baseball games are scheduled Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, followed by a Sounders FC match Monday night.
