Microsoft layoffs: Bad news for the 1,351 or so Microsoft employs in Redmond who are losing their jobs, but that number pales when compared to the overall 13,000 being notified starting today, most of them Nokia folks.

Fatal boat collision arrest: The driver of the powerboat involved in the fatal collision between a powerboat and a sailboat last night on Lake Washington has been arrested for investigation of homicide, according to authorities.

Weather: What a difference a day makes: From a high of 88 degrees yesterday to a high of just 79 today. It’s expected to be even cooler tomorrow with a high in the low 70s. National Weather Service forecast
