Fancy feast? A Tri-City pet store owner is eating food made for animals for a month to prove that it’s nutritious and … yummy? “You would be surprised how tasty dog and cat food can be when it’s made right,” Dorothy Hunter said. “In the dry kibble, I really like the Italian brand and the Natural Balance.”

Fireworks and parades: Still trying to figure out your plans for the Fourth? From fireworks at Gas Works Park to festivals and parades all over the place, you should be able to get your red, white and blue on.

Beyond potato salad: If a potluck is in your holiday plans, here are some great new twists on traditional summertime salads. No, they don’t involve cat food.

Or skip making anything. Check out one of these restaurants for amazing views of the Seattle fireworks. Pretty sure they’ll bring you a drink or two as well.

Holiday weather: Looks like we’ll have a few clouds, but no rain for the holiday weekend, according the National Weather Service forecast. Highs in Western Washington should be in the low 70s, and Eastern Washington should see temps in the 80s and possibly the 90s.
