National Weather Service forecast

National Weather Service forecast

Gas Works Park shooting: Seattle police officers shot a man in Gas Works Park early this morning. The man reportedly approached the officers and threatened them with a broken bottle. This story is developing.

Gun debate: A gun lobbyist reportedly made inflammatory remarks referencing the Holocaust, which the Jewish Federation of Seattle says were “idiotic, simplistic and wrong”.

Dramatic rescue of man who fell beneath state’s highest bridge: He was hiking when he slid down a steep embankment under the bridge, which is 20 miles south of Shelton. A rescuer rappelled from the 420-foot-high bridge and was hoisted with the hiker the equivalent of 42 stories. The hiker suffered a leg injury in the slide down the embankment.

Weather: Hot, but not as hot as yesterday. That’s a good thing, right? National Weather Service forecast
