1 wounded in early morning shooting in Everett

Everett police say a man was shot in the back early this morning near the city’s waterfront.

Police responded to reports of a shooting around 2:40 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the back at Hewitt Avenue and Nassau Street. The man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett – Colby Campus.

Police believe the victim had gotten into a fight with another man earlier in the evening. The second man retrieved a gun from his vehicle and fired several times at the victim, hitting him once, police said.

The man fled in his vehicle, but police later arrested him at a home in the 1700 block of Puget Drive.
