Update: 10:48 p.m. City Light says an underground cable failure has been isolated as the cause of the outage. Power has been restored to all but 6,750 customers as of 10:45 p.m. and the utility estimates it will finish restoring power to all customers by 1:30 a.m.

A big blackout in Ballard and Crown Hill has left 11,200 Seattle City Light customers without power Saturday night.

City Light estimates it could take until 4 a.m. for crews to restore power after the 9:15 p.m. outage.

The cause of the outage is not yet known, a City Light spokesman said.

The general boundaries of the outage are N 112th Street on the north, NW 46th Street on the south, 6th Avenue NW on the east and Seaview Avenue NW on the west, City Light said. Not all customers within those boundaries are affected.
