A drunken man in a tuxedo fired a gunshot at a couple early Tuesday after they interrupted him having sex with a woman in a downtown alley, Seattle police said.
According to police, a witness spotted the 64-year-old man handing money to a woman near Fourth Avenue South and South Main Street just after 2 a.m. The pair then retreated into an alley, police said.
Moments later, a couple walking nearby saw the man and woman having sex in the alley. The woman abruptly stopped what she was doing and fled, police said.
The man became enraged and told the couple he was going to kill them. He fired a gunshot at them but missed, according to police.
Police arrived and arrested the man, who appeared “highly intoxicated,” according to officers.
He was booked into jail for investigation of assault.
A police account of the incident does not explain why the man was in a tuxedo.
