TACOMA — Two deputies shot and wounded a knife-wielding man late Friday night, said a spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff’s office.
Jerry Bates said four deputies were responding to reports of a suicidal man at an apartment complex. They found the 32-year-old man with a knife and a screw driver in his hands.
Bates told The (Tacoma) News Tribune two of the deputies fired, wounding the man. Bates described the wounds as not life-threatening. The man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center.
