Seattle police are looking for a suspect after a family reported that a man had sexually assaulted their 10-year-old daughter at gunpoint in their Rainier Beach home early Monday.
The girl’s family told police that a man entered their home near 53rd Avenue South and South Wabash Street around 6 a.m. and sexually assaulted their daughter, then fled the house with several items, according to the Seattle Police Department. Officers were unable to find the man after searching the neighborhood.
Crime-scene investigators and detectives are interviewing witnesses, the police department said. Officers are working with child specialists to interview the victim and gain a description of the suspect.
