Seattle police seek hit-and-run driver who injured skateboarder

Seattle police are searching for the driver of a car who hit a skateboarder early Sunday and then drove off.

The skateboarder is in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center, police said.

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was hit around 2:20 a.m. when he tried to cross Airport Way South near South Alaska Street, police said. The car was described as a silver Toyota Camry.

The Toyota’s driver side headlight and bumper was damaged and the driver’s side view mirror was broken off in the collision, according to police

The car, believed to be a 2011 Camry LE or SE, was last seen traveling southbound on Airport Way South.

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run accident is asked to call Detective Tom Bacon at 206-684-8932
